To abide in stillness ” or “ To abide in tranquility ”. The practice of “calm abiding” uses focus on an external or internal object – the mind – to develop concentration and mental stability. Zhinè is a fundamental practice, the basis for the development of all other higher meditation practices (such as Dzogchen), and it is necessary – even for tantric practices, such as – for dream and sleep yoga.
